"The Factory" @ The Medulla Review

My story "The Factory" appeared recently in The Medulla Review. I originally drafted it under a pen name, Kal Groznyy, a pen name an amigo of mine in the MFA and I created back around '05. That name allowed me to slip more fully into the persona of a horror/surreal fiction writer.

This alter-ego was stirred recently through my editing of a horror/surreal fiction anthology forthcoming from Another Sky Press (on the release date, more later), an anthology I sort of stumbled into since the editor of the press mentioned in an email that the original editor had fallen sick. I was glad to edit the book, provide an opening essay on my thoughts on E. A. Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado" and its implications for horror/surreal fiction, and work with the writers.

Here's what the editor-in-chief of The Medulla Review, Jennifer Hollie Bowles, had to say about "The Factory":

"visceral, stygian, and disturbingly surreal."

Glad you liked it enough to publish, Jennifer!
